LG ready to launch Optimus 4X HD in India

LG is preparing to launch its first quad core smartphone , Optimus 4X HD with 720p HD display in India. The 4X HD is an Android phone powered by an Nvidia Tegra 3 processor. It also has a 4.7-inch display with a 1280-pixel-by-720-pixel resolution.

According to reports, LG India is expected to launch its new Optimus 4X HD smartphones with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update. The Optimus 4X HD is a high end device with a 720p HD display.

The 4X HD P880 smartphone features a 4.7 inch True HD IPS panel touchscreen display with 1280 x 720 pixel native resolution. This display offers great viewing angles and 312 pixel per inch density.

LG's new device has an 8 megapixel camera with LED flash as well as autofocus that is capable of recording 1080p HD video at 30 frames per second. Besides, it also has a 1.3 megapixel front facing camera for video calling and chat. Other features include GPS with A-GPS, Bluetooth 4.0, accelerometer, gyroscopic sensor, support for a variety of popular audio-video formats, stereo FM with RDS, WiFi Direct, and DLNA compliance.

The smartphone is powered by an Nvidia 1.5GHz Tegra 3 quad-core processor and has a 4.7-inch True HD IPS touchscreen with a resolution of 720 x 1280. Available in the UK for for around £450 SIM free.

As well as the UK, the Optimus 4X HD is currently available in mainland Europe and will arrive in Asia, South and Central America, and Russia in coming months.

The 4X HD has outperformed its rivals, the Galaxy S III and the HTC EVO 4G LTE, in both Geekbench and Andebench by a significant amount.

The Optimus 4X had an average battery life of 6 hours, 28 minutes. The Galaxy S III had longer battery life by just over an hour (7 hours, 30 minutes), while the HTC EVO 4G LTE ran about a half hour longer than the 4X HD (7 hours, 4 minutes).

The 4X HD also comes with built-in NFC (near-field communications) for making mobile payments. You can use Android Beam, which is built into Android 4.0, to transfer photos, contacts, Web pages, and more to another NFC-equipped Android 4.0 phone.
