Samsung has just announced its dual-SIM Android smartphone Galaxy S Duos. This dual-active smartphone will go on sale next month in Europe followed by other markets including India. While the Galaxy S Duos may pass off as the Samsung Galaxy S III at a first glance, on closer inspection, there are quite a few differences. The screen is 4-inches compared to the S III's 4.8-inches, which means there's more room at the top on the S Duos. The screen on the dual-SIM sporting Galaxy S Duos 480x800 TFT display compared to the S III's 720x1280 AMOLED display.
Other features of the phone include Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, 1GHz processor, 1500 mAh battery, and 4GB of internal memory. It also sports a 5MP camera, microSD card slot and Wi-Fi.
According to Samsung, the phone has the unique 'dual-SIM Always on' feature, which allows consumers to receive calls on one SIM while taking a call from the other.
Galaxy S Duos comes after HTC has announced two mid-range dual-SIM smartphones Desire V and VC globally, which are a direct competitor to this Samsung phone. There is no word on the Galaxy S Duos pricing, which is going to be a big factor in its success or failure.
