Zync launches 9.7 inch Android tab for Rs 10,990

The Zync Z1000 offers 8 GB inbuilt memory, 1.5 GHz processor, 1 GB of RAM, and in-built 3G support.

Zync Global, an Indian tablet brand, has launched a new 9.7-inch tablet, called Z1000, for Rs 10,990 in India.

The Zync Z1000 currently runs on Android 4.0 out of the box but, according to the company, will get Android 4.1 Jelly Bean upgrade in the future. The tablet also houses 9.7-inch IPS panel display with a healthy 1024x768p resolution and 1.5GHz Cortex A8 processor coupled with 1 GB RAM.

Zync Z1000 comes with in-built 3G support with voice calling too. Besides, there is a 0.3 megapixel front camera, 2 megapixel rear camera, 8 GB internal storage which is expandable upto 32 GB, a SIM card slot, mini HDMI port and two micro USB ports. The tablet, however, doesn't have GPS support, though navigation is available through cellular network.

There is a 7000 mAh battery at core in this tablet. Additionally, the company is also offering freebies worth Rs 1,350 which include a lycra pouch, screen protector, pair of earphones and 1 month subscription for BigFlix.

"This is our first attempt of launching a tablet with a multi-touch HD display, with a higher screen resolution and face-unlocking feature. As of now, the product is running on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich but it can be upgraded onto the latest Android 4.1 Jellybean platform in the coming months,” said Ashish Garg, director, Zync Global.

There is no tablet with this screen size and 3G SIM support, which makes it a good option. However, all will depend on how good the performance actually is, something that is always doubtful in low cost tablets. People having bought this tablet from only retailers like Flipkart and Homeshop18 have claimed good performance from the tablet though.
