ABUJA: Bharti AirtelBSE 0.84 % today said its subscriber base in Africa has crossed 60 million mark within three years of operation.
In oil rich Nigeria and Africa's most populous country, the company has 20 million active mobile subscription while the other 40 million users are in 19 countries where AirtelBSE 0.84 % has presence, it said in a statement.
Airtel Africa's Chief Marketing Officer, Andre Beyers said the company added 10 million customers across its operation in 17 countries in Africa in less than 12 months of crossing 50 million subscriber base.
The Africa holdings include Burkina Faso, Congo, Gabon, Ghana, Kenya, Malawi, Madagascar, Niger, Sierra Leone, Tanzania, Uganda Chad, the Republic of Congo and Zambia.
