Sony has confirmed via its Xperia blog late last week that it will resume retailing its Xperia Tablet S from November-mid. Sony had launched its Xperia Tablet S at the IFA conference in Berlin and started selling the same in United States from September 7, 2012 and later in Japan, Europe and other strategic markets.

In early October, Sony had to stop selling Xperia Tablet S after discovering a defect in it. Apparently, there was a gap between the screen of the tablet and the case, which made it susceptible to water damage. After acknowledging this problem in its waterproof tablet, Sony had promised to look into the matter soon. In addition, Sony also promised a fix for the 100,000 tablets that the company had managed to ship by that time. In the blog post Sony also mentions that its service centres are doing free inspection and repair of Sony Xperia S Tablet from October 22.

Looks like the company has managed to fix the problem and has thus decided to resume sales of the Xperia Tablet S.

Sony Xperia Tablet S is a 9.4-inch tablet that comes with Android Ice Cream Sandwich on-board. It runs on NVIDIA's Tegra 3 quad-core processor and was available in 16 GB, 32 GB and 64 GB versions. There is an 8-megapixel rear camera and 1-megapixel front camera.

Now with Sony resuming the sale of Xperia S tablet, one can hope that this tablet may be making its way to India soon. Currently Sony is offering two tablets in India - Sony Tablet P and Sony Tablet S. Sony Tablet P sports a foldable magazine-like design and its 3G Wi-Fi version is available for Rs. 32,990. While Sony Tablet S is available is two versions - 16GB Wi-Fi version, which is available for Rs. 22,990 and the 16GB Wi-Fi 3G version Rs. 29,990.
